I have to ask, are they really wanted? I'm going with No.
And with their new single 'All Time Low' we get this new boyband, which frankly, we haven't asked for. The singer sounds all emo (just like Pat Stump) which clashes with its RnB and Pop vibes. And then they top off the song with bizarre production, adding in a dance beat and strings. It's an odd one. Steve Mac, I expect better.
Yes, the little girls of the country with be falling head over heals for their good looks. Yes, it's commercial success in a tin. Yes, we will have forgotten about them this time next year.
Their problem is a lack of identity. Crappy lyrics which don't mean anything to them mixed with a lack of musical direction does not spell out longevity. Take some of the better boybands. The Backstreet Boys (my personal favourite, no joke) had catchy songs and danced. They didn't try to be anything other than that. And it worked perfectly. The Wanted's management should take a leaf out of The Successful Boyband's Handbook, written by Gary Barlow.

Also, check out the video. It's full of boyband cliches like staring longingly into the camera lens and dodgy dance moves (i.e.Actually dropping down low when they sing the word 'low'. Gimme a break, no context and patronising!)
