Rules Don't Stop Me

'The Bike Song' is wheely good.
Mark Ronson and his entourage's second single is Spoke-tactular. It brings the biggest smile to my face. I'm like a kid who has had his stabilisers removed! (I could write for the Mail with this writing...)
I'll stop.

Mark Ronson & The Business Intl - The Bike Song
Sorry for the advert...

Bike puns aside, this is the song that gets you singing into a ladle as you prance around the kitchen whilst pretending to be in Legs & Co. Its got a wicked marching beat and addictive keyboard riff - perfect for making dance routines to! "And grapevine!" Unbelievably catchy and with an 80's/early 90's hip hop/synthy vibe it will have you humming and jiving all day as you do the photocopying and tea-making at work. Kyle from The View has also reappeared for this song, and for once, we can make out what he's saying! He's come a long way from 'Skag Trendy'... Maybe its the brake from chain smoking...
I don't know anyone who doesn't like this song, nor anyone who isn't bopping around in a bomber jacket, fighting crime with an army of bikes in London nor sporting a platinum blonde 'do...

Thumbs up, all round.

Btw, got this from the crappest, most pointless, irrelevant and poorly constructed article ever. http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/pictures/2010/09/08/peter-andre-brad-pitt-and-other-famous-males-who-have-gone-blonde-115875-22546728/

Now, I've gotta make like a wheel and roll...

I'll Be There For You

So Adam has left the Drums :(

Sad times. I can't say it surprised me, he did always look down on stage. At Leeds he looked positively miserable.
Let's hope the band doesn't suffer and they can find someone soon.

He's the one on the left... Doesn't he look like Yannis from Foals.

Look how happy he was...

What a shame.

Echoes

Radioactive.

It's been a long time coming. I was so worried that the Kings were losing themselves and this record was the turning point for me. But, this song is bloody good. And I'm thrilled!
Returning to the music is what KOL needed to do and thankfully they have. After 'Only By The Night' and the massive success of it, the Followills got a bit too big for their own brand leather boots.

A slow drawl builds up to a big chorus backed by a choir. It's celebratory of their past and in that helps shape their future. A wonderful little ditty. And here is it live... (see below)

There is one issue though...what the hell is up with the official video? At first I thought it was a Live Aid type video and Bono was going to pop up, preaching. It makes a bit of a mockery of the song. Really cringy. I mean come on lads, you're cooler than that. Let's not lose it.

William Powers

And on to the Libertines.

An emotional start of projections from the good old days set the tone for this simply brilliant performance. There was a little wobble from Pete after two songs when he realised the enormity of the show he was in - he looked terrified, legged it off stage and after Carl ran after him and dragged him back with a fag and a drink he was fine.
Kicking off as usual with 'Horrowshow', the gig was heartfelt and it was clear the boys were doing it for much more than just the money. A giddy, coy smile here and a man hug there showed that Carl and Pete have let by-gones be by-gones and they are ready to move off that horrible road of self-destruction. I was touched to the core by the love shown on stage and the emotion seeping out of each and every band member. A nice long group hug at the end pulled at everyone's heartstrings and left everyone completely humbled.

A simply wonderful performance.
