I'm at NME, woop! did a cheeky little review of a really crap song. Here it is:
Violent Soho – Bombs Over Broadway
‘Fuck the system’ is repeated far too often to have any effect in this half-arsed attempt at an anarchic rant. The lyrics are poor and have little impact, the riffs and the drums are too simple so the music just becomes boring. ‘Bombs Over Broadway’ has the feel of a teenager rebelling against his parents, then realising its time to go in for tea. The insurgence envisaged by Violent Soho falls flat as they clearly don’t believe what they are singing; you can tell they put all their rubbish in the bin and their TV sets remain in their hotel rooms. The start of a revolution? Not a chance.
It's so bad, there isn't even a YouTube clip to put here....
So, with it being Glastonbury this weekend (and I am reminded everyday here at NME that I am not going) here is a lovely video of Blur from last year, singing Tender, one of my highlights from last Summer.
